It doesn’t seem that long since I posted a note to the effect that The Intrepid Adventures of Ralph Ingleton, one of my short stories released as a free ‘eBook’, had broken the ‘100 downloads’ barrier. So I’m now pleased to announce that the story has been downloaded 200 times since its release in October 2011.
The story was longlisted last year in an international story-writing competition and is about a young boy named Ralph who grows up listening to his grandfather’s exciting travel tales. He dreams of becoming an adventurer himself some day, but as an adult, Ralph’s dreams sometimes get him into hot water. There are also a few twists along the way.
The Ralph story appears in SHADES, a collection of nine short fictional works – from micro-fiction to longer short stories – which normally costs 99 cents. However, if you’re quick, you can download the whole eBook for free as follows:
- Log into Smashwords
- Enter code EF34K (expires Sun 27 May 2012)
- Download in various formats – for eReaders like the Kindle & iPad; for screen reading; or for home printing.
The Ralph Ingleton story will continue to be available as a free download, so if you want to read it after the offer expires, just click on the link. If you enjoy it, why not submit a quick review or pass on the link to friends?
I sincerely hope you enjoy reading the stories, and if you want to check out my other books, short stories, articles & photography, there’s plenty of info & free-to-view stuff on my Foley’s Forum website.
